What We Believe
THE SCRIPTURES
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God. The product of holy men of old who spoke and wrote as they were moved upon by the Holy Spirit and we accept it as our infallible guide in matters pertaining to conduct and doctrine ( 2 Tim 3:16; 1 Thess 2:13; 2 Peter 1:21).
THE GODHEAD
We believe that there is only one God, who hast created all things for His glory and honor. This one God has manifested Himself to mankind as the Father in creation, the Son in redemption, and the Holy Spirit indwelling and inspiring those who place their trust in Him. Our God is one, (John 1:1; John 1:14; John 14:8-9; Col 2:9; Deut 6:4).
MAN, HIS FALL
We believe man is a created being, made in the likeness and image of God. “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one. For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. “Jesus Christ, the son of God, was manifested to undo the work of the devil and gave His life and shed His blood to redeem and restore man back to God by rebirth (Rom 3:10; Rom 3:23; Rom 5:14).
GOD IS LOVE
We believe that God is love and that sacrificial love was shown to fallen humanity when the Father gave the Son to redeem all who believe in the Son. (John 3:16; 1 John 4:16; Luke 19:10).
REDEMPTION AND THE NEW BIRTH
We believe salvation is the gift of God to man, separate from works and the law, and is made operative by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, producing works acceptable to God. (Eph 2:8; 2 Cor 7:10; 1 John 5:5; John 3:3-5).
WATER BAPTISM
We believe baptism is not an option and not just a public confession of a person’s faith in Christ. We believe that according to scripture, this baptism includes complete immersion and is administered in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. (Matt 16:16; John 3:1-5; Acts 2:38; Acts 8:34-38; Col 2:12).
BAPTISM IN THE HOLY GHOST
We believe the Baptism in the Holy Ghost and fire is a gift from God as promised by the Lord Jesus Christ. The evidence of this experience is speaking in other tongues as the Holy Spirit Himself gives utterance. (Matt 3:11; John 14:16-17; Acts 2:38-39; Acts 19:1-6). We believe in the operation of the gifts of the Spirit in the body as described in 1 Cor 12 as manifested in the early church.
BODY OF CHRIST
We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ, as the body of Christ. We believe the church to be more than just a building or a gathering of people. It is a body living in relationship and harmony under the direction of the head, Jesus Christ. ( 1 Cor 6:15;19-20; 1 Cor 12: 12-21; 1 Pet 2:4-5; Eph 2:19-22; Rom 12: 4-5; Eph 4:11-16).
HEAVEN AND HELL
We believe that both the saved and the lost will be resurrected; the saved unto life eternal and the lost unto eternal damnation. ( John 5:28-29; 1 Cor 15:51-58; 1 Thess 4:16-17; Luke 16: 19-31).
FINANCIAL
we believe that scripture requires all members of the congregation to support the church through tithes and offerings. ” as the Lord has prospered thee”. (Mal 3:10; 1 Cor 16:1-2;)
MARRIAGE
We believe in the creation and God as the creator. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. God instituted marriage between male and female as the foundation of the family.
